Good Friday!

It's almost Easter! The kids are so excited, especially Sam!

This week has gone by in a blur it seems, and here it is Friday already.
Last weekend was so fun, I took the kids to the Spring Carnival at the school where they played games, Layla got her face painted, went through a blow-up obstacle course & slide and Layla rode a pony! I am so mad at myself for not bring the camera! What was I thinking?!
Sam also had his first baseball practice & did great! We stayed to watch that first time, I really like his coach. Russ & I walked the track while Jake & Layla played on the equipment. From now on though, I think we will mostly just be dropping him off since they're 2 hr. practices, lol.

Jake went to the North Carolina Zoo on Wednesday for the big 5th grade field trip. He had to be at the school @ 6am so Russ took him (not Mommy, lol). They were back at the school around 7pm- he had a good time & learned to whistle with an acorn so that's been a lovely sound to hear every day :D

Gotta share this story too: Layla found a worm outside last weekend & played with it FOREVER outside- pushing it in the stroller, putting it in her pocket, pushing it in the swing... at one point she took him out, put him on the ground by another worm and said "there's your friend, look, he's dead!" LMAO!
Then Wormy came into the house, took a bath, got powdered and Layla was determined that he was going to sleep in her room! Ummmmmm...no! She was so upset that he had to go back out to the dirt but it worked out ok in the end... I really can't believe the things she does!

I got one page done this week with the new kit so far- need to do more!



I also worked on Layla's invitations yesterday, just to see how they would come together & what they looked like. I did 2 of them and I think they're cute! Possibly the inside could be different and done on the computer but good enough I think. I'll post pics when they're done (3 more to go).

So that's the summary of the last week pretty much.
Today is going to be quite busy- Russ & the boys are home, we're cleaning, coloring eggs, going to get a new air bed (since air leaks out of the old & believe it or not, people seem to like a firm, not FLAT mattress, lol).
My mom & Phil are coming down tonight, they're leaving OH after he gets off work so it will probably be around midnight when they get here.

Tomorrow is baseball practice again then the egg hunt (15,000 eggs!) at the church!
Easter Sunday my mom & I will be going to Sunrise Service. I love the peacefulness in the early morning. It fills me with such a spirit of love & peace that lasts the whole day long and also reminds us what Easter is really about :-)

So that's all for now- must.have.COFFEE!!!! It's not even 8am yet but I knew if I wanted to blog, I'd have to do it early before the craziness starts!
I'm sure I'll have plenty of pics to share after the weekend.
